Order 66

So my co-worker Dan told me that he put a link to my blog on CalgaryUrbanVibe. What he didn't tell me was that I was the only blog he linked to. So that might explain why I've been getting daily visits from Urban Vibe readers.

According to Dan, in this blog I talk about Star Wars and Political Sciences. I would dispute that, but clearly I talked about Star Wars a couple of days ago, and I intend to today as well.

I just checked online, and tickets have gone on sale for Episode III in Calgary. I'm going to see it opening night, but I'm not sure where or at what time. I'm going to call some of my friends tonight and coordinate something so that we can buy tickets ASAP. My friends and I saw Episodes I & II on opening day, but not midnight shows, so we might as well continue the tradition.

Seeing Star Wars films, and Lord of the Rings films as well, on opening night is an experience to behold. People are dressed up, everyone is excited, and there's a certain camaraderie amongst everyone. Yeah, we usually poke fun at the super nerdy people, but secretly we admire their courage.

I remember coming out of Episode I after I saw it. My friends and I walked past a bunch of people in line for the next show and yelled "Man, I can't believe Anakin died", just to see their reaction of outrage and then laughter. Hell, I didn't even realize that the movie was pretty crappy until a second viewing.

When I saw Episode II for the first time, I enjoyed it for the most part. However, I couldn't help but notice a general lack of acting ability and chemistry amongst the actors. I do remember everyone breaking out into applause when Yoda came out and ignited his lightsaber though.

I have high hopes for Revenge of the Sith, and unlike the first two, I've been reading every spoiler and looking at every image I come across. It'll probably reduce my enjoyment of the film slightly, but I'm still pretty stoked. Just go to Duncan's blog and check out the link he has to Kevin Smith's blog. There are some pretty big spoilers in there, but it confirms that the movie is going to very dark.

I wish I was getting daily vists from Urban Vibe readers in Calgary, despite never having been there or even within a couple hundred miles of it. In fact, the furthest West I've been is Toronto.
Ep III does look pretty kick-ass. I hated Ep I, enjoyed II and have extremely high hopes for III. Despite the Flanneled One's penchant for mediocrity I think even he had the business sense to make this last movie semi-decent... 3 stikes and you're out Georgie. Is Kevin Smith part of the creation in any way, or just a fan?

Kevin Smith is just a big fan, and geek in general. There were rumors that he was going to be involved in the Star Wars TV show, but I don't think there's any truth to that. Although, I hope that Mr. Lucas distances himself from the TV iteration so that perhaps it might not suck.
